Starting to finalize characters for my comic, think I've settled on one of the main two...till I change my mind again : ) Anyhow, gonna keep working with this one and try apply the style to some other development sketches.

Some more comic bits. i mentioned i was doing some re designs, which i've been doing on the train in the morning... Some ideas for one the characters and one of the scenes...All still a work in progress, but getting somewhere with.

Bought a nice set of inks and brushes, pens over the weekend..Been a while since i used em, so had some fun messing about. Inked and then messed about with on my laptop.

Started this one a while ago, but stopped when my computer at the time died. I'd forgotten about it till I was rooting around my computer tonight and now that I have a copy of painter again I think I'll continue. I'm not really sure where I was going with it? so it might change quite a bit..... been busy in work this past while, but I'm looking forward to doing some more comic related stuff this week. I'll get them posted here soon as : )

Back in the Victoria and Albert overthe weekend. Had another go at this from a different angle...

I did some sketches of the busts in the hall of statues. Couldn't help but think they all looked like Dickens characters? Really enjoyed these. I think that fact that I was standing and hurrying helped me to loosen up a bit.

Lastly to the right is a quick study, I only had a little time with it so I'm hoping to finish it next time I go back.

Some sketchs from the victoria and albert last Saturday. Really enjoy drawing there, it's a great spot. Really need to find a few more places to do some sketching though. The weather being as it is, it'll have to be somewhere in doors, near coffee : )

Here are some updated character designs for the comic. The main character, the guy on the left is feeling right. I'm still struggling a bit with rest of the characters but there has been some progress. Have a few sketches in my notebook that are closer to what I want. I'll get them posted real soon: )

some painting and location drawing

The first painting I've tried since art college, which was a bloody long time ago. Finding it hard, but fun. I seem to be meeting lots of p ainters so I thought I'd give it a go.Then in an attempt to loosen up my style ( because I feel like been drawing in shorthand lately) I started some location drawing. Visited the Victoria and Albert a couple of times.It's a really nice place to spend the day drawing. Here's a study from the hall of statues.

Another page from a comic thats still a work in progress... As mentioned in the previous post the characters and the story are being reworked. The main character has been pretty hard to settle on: ) But I think I'm starting to get somewhere with it.

Okay, to start off I've added some early comic page layouts that I started a while ago. I'm still working out the story so the art work has stalled a little. I was on a TimSale kick when I did this page. I usually lean towards fairly extreme perspctives, but I wanted to have this teacher character almost layered over the class. I've started redesigning the characters since, so I'll post those character sketches real soon.
